In our list of places to see on the Costa da Morte we controlled ourselves a lot and we only included one beach. Villages, lighthouses, capes… this corner of the Galician coast is so full of interesting places that the selection was very hard and we didn’t want the list to be miles long. But you should see more, on our three-day road trip along the Costa da Morte we included others, maybe we even went overboard… The fact is that we felt a little guilty and we have decided to give those magnificent Galician beaches the space they deserve. So here is an article dedicated to them alone: the best beaches on the Costa da Morte .
Beaches Costa da Morte Praia Baldaio Salto
Jumping on Baldaio beach
As always, the “best” part is subjective. It depends a lot on the tastes of the person who chooses them and, in this case, the “judges” are not very beach-goers. We are not beach-goers to swim and wordpress web design agency sunbathe. But we love them as natural landscapes. Perhaps it would be better to say that it is a selection of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa da Morte . Again, something very subjective. In almost all cases, these are wild or semi-wild beaches , there is even one –our favourite– that is almost virgin.
Don't worry, there are some sheltered beaches where you can also swim. At the end we have included a list of nudist beaches and another one where you can surf . But first, this selection of the best beaches on the Costa da Morte . Huge sandy beaches, dunes, lagoons, pine forests await you... A concentrate of wild Galician beauty!
Baldaio beach and Razo beach in Carballo
The adjacent Baldaio and Razo beaches are located in a huge protected area. About a thousand hectares and about five kilometres of fine, golden sand, one of the largest sandy areas in Galicia . The group forms one of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa da Morte and in the whole of A Coruña .
Beaches Costa da Morte Praia Razo
Razo beach
The two beaches, in Carballo, next to the dune system and the lagoon and marshes of Baldaio – a wetland known for being a paradise for birds – have environmental protection under the Natura 2000 network. We were left wanting to walk the entire Senda do Mar Razo – Baldaio , but we were only able to do part of it. If you have time, we recommend it.

Razo , with a blue flag , is also known for its strong waves: it is a surfing beach . Baldaio , on the other hand, is quieter and more family-friendly, although it also has a nudist area .
As Torradas beach in Malpica
We go to Malpica de Bergantiños to find another of the best beaches on the Costa da Morte . There is Praia das Torradas , an idyllic and protected sandy beach, although it does have strong waves. It is also frequented by surfers , but here they have to be more expert. When the tide goes out, it joins the neighbouring beach of Os Rías and its curious rock formations.

Being a little far from the centre of Malpica, As Torradas beach is quite quiet , there are not usually many people –when we went, nobody, but it was April–. Again, wild surroundings, crystal-clear water, fine golden sand … what more could you ask for?
Beaches Costa da Morte Praia os Rias Rocas
The rocks of the Rías beach
It is also part of the Natura 2000 network and you can get there on foot or by mountain bike from Malpica or from Razo beach along the Ruta dos pinos no mar . We got there by car.
